Mary Jane Messmer, 68, Casper, Wyo. formerly of Dickinson, died Thursday, November 30, 2006, in Casper. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. Monday, December 11, 2006, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Jeff Zwack, celebrating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home from 12 noon to 9 p. m. with a rosary and vigil service at 4 p. m. led by Deacon Tony Wanner. Mary Jane Martin was born August 24, 1938, in New England to Michael and Katherine (Linhardt) Martin. She attended school to the 8th grade at St Mary?s in New England and then moved to Portland, Oregon and graduated from high school. After graduation she moved to California and was married and later divorced. Mary Jane then moved back to Dickinson where she had two children. She married Frank Messmer on October 19, 1963, at St. Wencelsaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. She was employed at CBS 2 Network until February of 2006 when she retired due to health reasons. Frank and Mary Jane then moved to Casper to be closer to their daughter and family. She was a member of the Eagle?s Women?s Auxiliary. Mary Jane loved to bowl, play cards, scrabble and spending time with her four granddaughters where she wore the ?NANA? name with pride. She is survived by: her daughter, Michelle (Frank) Taylor, Casper, Wyo. ; four granddaughters all of Casper, Wyo. ; brothers and sisters, Anna Wallachy, Portland, OR, John (Ethel) Martin, Bismarck, ND, Emma Muir Oceanside, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, son, daughters, three brothers and 3 stepbrothers.
