Mary Palaniuk

Funeral Services for Mary Palaniuk, 97, of Bismarck, formerly of Belfield, are 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Belfield Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Dieterle, officiating. Interment will follow in Belfield Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Mary passed away Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Mary was born February 15, 1906 in Wilton, ND to Joseph and Hatie (Sawyhuk) Kassian. Being raised in the Wilton area she attended country school. In 1925, Mary married Elko Palaniuk, Sr. ; together the couple moved north of Belfield and began farming along with raising their family. They moved to Belfield in 1973 at this time retiring. Mary is survived by her sons, William (Tanya) of Denver, CO, Mitchell W. (Karen) of Bismarck, ND, Elko Jr. (Marge) of Bismarck, ND, Steven (Roberta) of New Leipzig, ND; son-in-law, Vic Krivarschka of Fargo, ND; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Elko, daughter, Olga Krivarschka, her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Belfield Lutheran Church.
