She grew up and attended country schools in the New Hradec area. Mary was the oldest of ten children so she soon worked on the family farm helping her parents. On November 5,1924 she was married to Anton Polensky at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. Together they farmed the Polensky homestead and began raising their family. Mary also cared for her mother-in-law due to the early death of her husband. In 1947 Anton and Mary moved to Dickinson where they made their home since. Mary began working as a cook for various restaurants for 17 years. In 1995, Mary moved to Evergreen where she enjoyed all the activities, especially Bingo. She lived there until June of 2004 when she moved to St. Luke?s Home. Over the years she enjoyed traveling to visit family, crocheting, embroidering, quilting, sewing, and was always known as a great cook.
