Funeral services for Mary Ann Praus, 82, of Dickinson, ND will be 10 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, South Heart with the Rev. Shannon Lucht, celebrating. Interment will be in the St. Mary?s Cemetery, South Heart. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008, followed by a rosary and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Mary Ann passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mary Ann Rambousek was born on October 1, 1925, to Anton and Mary (Luptak) Rambousek, on the family farm in Stark County, ND. She grew up and attended country school in the New Hradec area. On October 18, 1943, she married John A. Praus at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. Together they moved to the Praus family farm four miles south of South Heart where they raised their family. On March of 1960, they moved to Montana before moving back to South Heart in 1962. Mary Ann worked for the South Heart School as a cook from 1974 to 1990 when she retired. After the death of her husband, John, in 1995 Mary Ann moved into Pioneer Haven in Dickinson. Since January 31, 2008, she resided at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Mary Ann was a great cook and baker. Her specialties included her fried chicken, chocolate chip cookies and kolaches. Mary Ann would share her recipes and techniques with her children to continue her legacy. She also enjoyed reading, watching movies, playing cards with her children and especially gardening and canning. Mary Ann was well known for her large garden and sharing the produce with all. Mary Ann also enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and organized scrapbooks with pictures of family history and news clippings. She was a member of St. Mary?s Altar Society. She is survived by: her children, Robert Praus, Killdeer, ND, Richard (Alena) Praus, Dickinson, Raynald (Laura) Praus, Dickinson, Rodney Praus, Dickinson, Roger (Donna) Praus, Bismarck, Randy (Debbie) Praus, Bismarck, Marjorie (Wilbur) Brew, Dickinson and Marlene (Richard) Novotny, Dickinson, ND; brothers and sisters, Anton (Edith) Rambousek, Dickinson, ND, Henry (Gladys) Rambousek, South Heart, ND, Andrew Rambousek, Dickinson, Eleanore Marsh, Dickinson; Marth Marsh, Dickinson; Georgina Steffan, Dickinson, Victoria (Louis) Sadowsky, Dickinson, Margie (Anton) Jilek, Dickinson and Shirley Dahmus, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John A. Praus, two brothers, one in infancy and Charley, two sisters, Edith and Dorothy Ridl and a daughter in law, Joyce Praus.
