Mass of Christian Burial for MaryEllen Sabrosky, 87, of Manning, ND will be at 11:00 a. m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer, ND with the Reverend Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Rite of Committal will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Monday, December 12th, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. MaryEllen Sabrosky was born on September 4, 1924, a daughter of Joe and Lena (Tabor) Kowis in Killdeer, ND. She was the first of eleven children born to Joe and Lena. MaryEllen grew up on the Kowis farm at Grassy Butte where she attended school. Following school MaryEllen worked for several families and waitressed in the community. In her spare time she enjoyed attending local dances. It was during this time that she met Eddie Sabrosky who was in a local band. MaryEllen and Eddie were married on December 15, 1943, at Wibaux, MT. MaryEllen and Eddie were blessed with three children, Joylene, Dwight and Audrey. Following their marriage, MaryEllen and Eddie started farming and ranching west of Manning in the Fayette community. Besides raising their family, MaryEllen also helped Eddie with the farming and ranching. She was a hard worker. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and drawing. MaryEllen was Baptized and Confirmed in the Catholic Church at Grassy Butte. She was strong in her faith and made time daily to read her Bible. MaryEllen also kept close contact with her siblings and enjoyed keeping up with her children and grandchildren. After Eddie?s untimely death in 1993, MaryEllen remained on the farm until this past May when her health forced her to move into Hill Top Home of Comfort. MaryEllen passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011, at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer, ND. MaryEllen is survived by her children, Joylene (Dale) Kelling, Sioux Falls, SD, Dwight (Karen) Sabrosky, Killdeer, ND and Audrey (Arne) Jellesed, Manning, ND; six grandchildren, Jason (April) Kelling, Justin (Karen) Kelling, Jamie Jellesed, Danielle (Will) Albretsch, Jacob Jellesed and Devin Sabrosky; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Stanley Kowis, Kenny Kowis, Walley Kowis, Donna Grevious and Delores Bice and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lena, her husband, Eddie, four sisters, Caroline Dardis, Annabelle Kukla, Kathryn Trotter and Margerie Hansen and one brother, Bobby Kowis.
