Funeral Services for Mary Ann Semerad, 84 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jim Braaten celebrating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery at New Hradec. A Rosary and Prayer Service will be 7:00 p. m. Monday, November 22, 2004 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Mary passed away Friday, November 19, 2004 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Mary was born June 27, 1920 at her parent?s farm in Dunn County, the daughter of Vincent and Agnes Kubik Kadrmas. She grew up on the family farm with her twelve brothers and one sister, attending grade school in the Tabor School District. Mary was a great help to her mother, helping with all the household chores. Before marriage she worked in Dickinson doing house cleaning for the Gilbert Saxowsky family. Mary was married to Joe V. Semerad on June 18, 1940 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. They farmed 25 miles northwest of Dickinson in Dunn County. They moved to Dickinson in 1969. Mary did some work outside the home until about 1980 while still enjoying doing her gardening and yard work. She loved cooking for her family ? they couldn?t wait to eat her chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles and her kolaches and bread rolls. She loved to dance, watch old time movies on TV and play cards with family and friends. She also loved visiting with her children and grandchildren, hearing about their many accomplishments. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters Court St. Catherine #323 and a former member of St. Ann?s Altar Society and Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include four sons: Donald (Pauline), Bismarck, ND; Dwayne (Karen), Rapid City, SD; Daryl (Rhonda), Dickinson, ND and Dave (Michelle), Rapid City, SD; three daughters: Donna (Richard) Jablonsky, Dickinson, ND; Darlys (Ronald) Theobald, Cameron, IL; and Deb (Clay) Kerner, Dickinson, ND; seventeen grandchildren: Kevin (Darcy), Jared (Shelley) and Jason (Ann) Semerad, Lynelle (Dale) Kocher, Russell (Cassandra), Rick (Shannon) and Brittany Jablonsky, Scott Semerad, Kristi (Desmond) Watson, Jenifer (special friend Tim Brubakken), Justin (Susan) and Jeff (Jen) Semerad, Stephanie Theobald, Mikala and Tanner Semerad, and Calvin and Valerie Kerner; eighteen great-grandchildren: Tessa and Natali Semerad, Alexander and Maxwell Kocher, Jakob Semerad and Marissa Norheim, Courtney, Michael, Jacob, Mark, Seth, Levi, Caleb and Mathea Jablonsky, Abigal, Tailey, Madison and Annabella Semerad; one brother, Laudie C. (Mary) Kadrmas, Dickinson, ND; one brother-in-law, Henry A. Dvorak; five sisters-in-law, Emma, Hatti, Leona, Emma E. and Mildred Kadrmas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe of 60 years, in 2000; eleven brothers: Vincent, Henry, Alphonse, Charles, Walter, George, Anton, Ludwig, John, Louis and William (in infancy); one sister, Lillian and five sisters-in-law: Rose, Florence, Eleanor, Rose and Helen.
