Mary Splichal

A Funeral Mass for Mary Splichal, 86, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Entombment will take place at the Dickinson Mausoleum.


Visitation for Mary will be from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 4:00 p.m.


Mary passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at CHI- St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.


Mary Splichal was born August 23, 1931 in New Hradec, the daughter of Louie and Mary (Kovash) Kostelecky. She attended school at St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in New Hradec through the eighth grade. Mary was united in marriage to Wencel Splichal on September 24, 1951 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of New Hradec. To this union, Nancy, Randy, Richard, Pamela and Jayme were born. Mary helped with the farming near Versippi and took pride in raising her family. She was also an employee of JC Penney in Williston, Herbergers in Dickinson, and a Home Care Specialist in Stark County for 13 years.


Mary is survived by her husband, Wencel; sons, Randy (Theresa) Splichal of Larimore, Richard (Sherri) Splichal of Spokane, WA, and Jayme (Lonnie) Splichal of Nine Mile Falls, WA; her daughters, Nancy (Anton) Dukart of Dickinson and Pamela (Michael) Olson of Fargo; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Kuylen of South Heart, Georgia (Ray) Kadrmas of Dickinson, and Betty Spaulding of Minot; sister-in-law, Martha Kostelecky of Dickinson.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Mary Kostelecky; brothers, Charlie, Laudie and William Kostelecky; sisters, Mildred Ficek, Edith Kadrmas and Elyse Dagner; and sister-in-law, Norma Kostelecky.
