A Memorial service for Mary Streifel, 72, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Inurnment will take place this spring in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in DickinsonVisitation will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 12:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Mary passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck, ND. Mary was born on October 8, 1941 the daughter of Casper and Alice (Savelsberg) Streifel in Mandan, ND. She moved with her parents to Dickinson where she attended school. She graduated from Dickinson High. Mary was married to Ted Kostelecky in 1964. To this union two sons were born, Courtney and Christopher. Together they made their home in Dickinson. Mary took over Streifel Clothing from her mother who started the business. She operated the clothing store in Dickinson until 2000. After a short retirement she opened the Dakota Woman and operated this until 2011. After retiring due to failing health, Mary made her home in Dickinson. She kept in touch with her friends and faithful customers with phone calls and visits from them. Her love was working in the clothing business and helping her customers find the perfect outfit for the special occasion. She could always deck them out from head to toe. Survivors include her two sons, Courtney Kostelecky, Fargo, ND and Christopher (Lisa) Kostelecky, Kodiak, AK; two grandchildren, Ali and Erica Kostelecky; and a brother, Tom (Dolly) Streifel, Kodiak, AK. She was preceded in death by her parents anda brother, Milton.
