Funeral Mass for Mary M. Wolf, 88, of Glen Ullin, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. CDT, Friday, July 29, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, ND, with Father Arul Joseph, celebrating. Burial will take place in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Visitation for Mary will be from 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. CDT, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. , CDT. Mary passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin, ND. Mary M. Hellman was born July 31, 1922 in Grant County, the daughter of Valentine and Thersia (Schaaf) Hellman. She grew up and attended country school in Grant County. She helped on the farm with her sisters and brothers as she was the oldest of 13 siblings. On June 19, 1945, Mary married Philip Wolf at St. Joseph Catholic Church south of Glen Ullin. To this union seven children were born: Darlene, Carol, Eugene, Janet, Joyce, Marie and Joseph. The couple farmed near Mott until 1954, when they moved to a farm south of Glen Ullin. This is where they raised their family. In 1979, the couple moved into Glen Ullin. After they moved to town, Mary began working at Marion Manor, which she enjoyed very much. Mary loved to spend time in her garden, cooking, canning and sewing quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to have and host family gatherings and have her entire family around. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Christian Mothers. Mary is survived by one son, Joseph (Roslyn) Wolf of Glen Ullin, ND; five daughters, Darlene (Larry) Kueffler of Lemmon, SD, Carol (Steve) Rosin of Woodbridge, CA, Janet Ellwood of Albany, OR, Joyce (Dave) Holkup of Whapeton, ND and Marie Jaeger of Bismarck, ND; six brothers, Ernest Hellman of Glen Ullin, ND, Jack (Lucy) Hellman, James (Lu) Hellman, Eugene (Rose) Hellman, Mathias (Marjean) Hellman and Valentine (Theresa) Hellman, all of Albany, OR ; two sisters, Clara Lagler of Scio, OR and Claudia Hellman of Mount Angel, OR; three sisters-in-law, AnnaMary Hellman of Glen Ullin, ND, Shirley Hellman of Ross, ND and Magdalena Hellman of Dickinson, ND; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine and Thersia Hellman; her husband, Philip Wolf; one son Eugene Wolf; and four brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Lawrence and George Hellman; one sister-in-law Rose Hellman.
