A funeral service for MaryBeth (Urban) Hoon, 34, of Buffalo, WY, formerly of Belfield, will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Pastor Jim Hessler officiating. Burial will take place in Belfield Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation for MaryBeth will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service taking place a 4:00 p.m.
MaryBeth Ellyn (Urban) Hoon was born July 10, 1983 to David and Bertha Urban in Hettinger, ND. She passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Mary’s faith was so strong, she believed God would heal her to the end in accordance to the bible: Hebrews 11:1, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. We all have our struggles with faith and Mary did too but she kept coming back to God and his promises.
Mary was the youngest of eight children and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. As a child, Mary lived in Bowman, ND, moving to Williston, ND, and eventually moved south of Belfield, ND until she met the love of her life, Matthew (Corey) Hoon. They were married September 14, 2002 in Dickinson, ND. The couple lived in Buffalo, WY for 15 years and had six beautiful children whom Mary loved deeply. Later the family returned to Mary’s childhood home south of Belfield.
Mary loved the mountains in Wyoming. Her passion and frequent getaway was camping, especially the Hoon Annual Elk Camp. She enjoyed Corey’s cooking which could always feed an army she said. Mary kept a clean house and had a beautiful yard. Mary’s greatest accomplishment was her husband and children. Mary always made everyone feel like they were the most special to her. She always had a smile on her face, a cigarette in her hand, and coffee in her cup.
Mary is survived by her husband, Matthew (Corey) Hoon; four daughters, Melanie, Abby, April, and Autumn; two sons, William and Noah; parents, David and Bertha Urban of Belfield, ND; siblings, Laura (Rocky) Sarsland of Ludlow, SD, Shirley (Jeremey) Binstock of South Heart, ND, Cindy (Cory) Bailey of Dickinson, ND, Daniel (Jane) Urban of Watford City, ND, Dennis (Kelly) Urban of Dickinson, ND, Dean (Juli) Urban of Belfield, ND, and Donavan (Dana) Urban of Dickinson, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her dog, Bear.
Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents, Matthias and Martha Hutzenbiler, and William and Ellen Urban; sister-in-law, Marla Urban; and many other close family members from her and Matthew’s family.
