Funeral Services for Mathilda Gartner, 79, of Dickinson are Monday, August 1, 2005 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Visitation will begin Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 9:00 a. m. until 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Mathilda passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Mathilda Gartner was born March 14, 1926 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Alois ?Louie? and Mary (Dibelka) Kubischta. Mathilda grew up and attended country schools in Stark County. She helped on the family farm until she married Nickolas Gartner on June 26, 1968, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Together they farmed in Stark County until 1964, when they moved to Dickinson. Mathilda and Nickolas raised their family and made Dickinson their home since. Mathilda cooked for various school lunch programs for over 30 years. Mathilda enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, crocheting, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and St. Ann?s Altar Society. Survivors include one son: Donald Gartner of Pennock, MN; one daughter: Donna Ralston, West Fargo, ND; one brother: Henry Kubischta, Dickinson, ND; two grandchildren: Jeannie (Tracy) Schar, Kasson, MN; Scott (Kathryn) Ralston, Devils Lake, ND; one great-grandchild: Alexandria Schar, Kasson, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Nick; a son-in-law: Terrance Ralston.
