Graveside Memorial service for Maureen Murtha Calcaterra, 75, of Stockton, CA formerly of Dickinson, ND will be 4 p. m. , Thursday, July 3, 2008 at St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Maureen passed away January 4, 2008 at her home after battling a lengthy illness. Maureen was born November 5, 1932 the daughter of T. F. and Gladys Murtha in Dickinson, ND. She attended St. Patrick?s grammar school and Dickinson High School. She then attended the St. Catherine?s College in Minnesota, University of North Dakota, and the University of Oklahoma. Maureen worked as a secretary for Continental Oil in Denver, CO and Continental Can in San Francisco, CA. She was also a secretary for Stockton and Lodi Unified School Districts and various other local businesses. Maureen was a member of the ski patrol in Colorado, a sustaining member of Junior Aid, Tuesday Club, Women?s Auxiliary for St. Joseph?s and Dameron Hospitals. She was very devoted to her family and friends, and she was also known for her knitting and fine culinary skills. She is survived by: daughter; Laura (Ken) Genecco, Stockton, CA; son, Thomas Calcaterra, Monterey, CA; brother, Thomas F. (Katherine) Murtha, North Dakota; other daughter; Pamela Closs, Stockton, CA; former husband; Donald J. Calcaterra, Stockton, CA; nephews; Thomas F. Murtha (Janey Lyn), J. Patrick Murtha (Dana), Daniel Murtha (Sarah) and William Murtha; godchildren; Kim Quinones and Maureen Murphy Hanson. Maureen was preceded in death by: her parents and brother, Patrick A. Murtha. Memorials may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, The American Lung Association, Saving Sea Otters or the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
