Funeral Services for Maximillian ?Max? Lorbiecke, 63 of Wibaux will be 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Golva, N. D. Burial will be at a later date on the Lorbiecke family ranch. Max died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born April 3, 1942 at Beach, ND, the Son of Ollie and Dorothy (Buie) Lorbiecke. Max grew up and attended country schools in Wibaux County and later attended Baker High School where he graduated in 1960. After High School, he attended Carroll College and Dawson Community College for two years. Max enlisted in the National Guard and served for two years. He returned to the Baker area and was married to Rae Bowen in June of 1965. To this union, a son, Brent was born. Max began working in the oilfield as a roustabout and later for Butte Pipeline where he worked for the next 37 years. In June of 1982 he was married to Patti Jo Sather in Belle Fourche, SD. Together they made their home on the Lorbiecke farm near Carlyle, MT since that time. Max retired in 2001 from the oilfield. In 2003 Max and Patti Jo purchased and operated the Golva Bar. He was a member of the Baker Men?s Club and a board member of the Farmers Union. He loved NASCAR and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt and his son. Max enjoyed the farm, especially during haying time, gardening, riding his 4-wheeler, taking people hunting and being outdoors. He loved and enjoyed his son, grandsons, step children and step-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Patti Jo of Wibaux; his mother, Dorothy Lorbiecke of Hamilton, MT; a son Brent (Tamra) Lorbiecke of Baker; a step-son, Michael (Jen) Solarez of South Weber, UT; a step-daughter Angela (Steve) Ross of West Jordan, UT; two brothers: Dan (Elaine) Lorbiecke of Glendive and John (Josie) Lorbiecke of Loveland, CO; two sisters: Judy (Marvin) Burman of Glendive and Susan (Gary) Mosbrucker of Hamilton, MT; and ten grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ollie and a sister Diane Wyrick.
