Maximilian Steckler

A funeral Mass for Maximilian Pio Steckler, infant son of Zachary and Paxtyn (Nelson) Steckler, will be 1:00 p.m. CDT, April 27, 2018 at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck with Father Jadyn Nelson celebrating.  Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bismarck.


Maximilian Pio Steckler was born on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.  From the very first moments of his life, Maximilian faced developmental complications in utero which precipitated his early birth and subsequent death. He was loved and awaited by his parents and extended family throughout the pregnancy. Though his life outside the womb was very brief, his worth in the eyes of his family was that of one made in the image of God. Within the brief moments of Maximilian’s life, he was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Roman Catholic Church.


Those blessed by Maximilian’s life are his parents, Zachary and Paxtyn Steckler of Lincoln; grandparents, Leon and Joan Steckler of Fargo and Deacon Ryan and Marlo Nelson of Dickinson; great-grandparents, Ken and Sheila Steckler of Bismarck and Alice Roshau of Dickinson; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.


Maximilian was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Maximilian’s memory be made to the Badlands Choice Clinic, 313 3
