Funeral Services for Melvin A. ?Bud? Twogood, 83, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. , Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer officiating. Military Rites will be by the Dickinson Veteran?s Drill Team. Burial will be 11:00 a. m. CST. , Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. . Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Melvin passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008 at his home in Dickinson. Bud as most of his family and friends knew him was born on January 21, 1925 at Halliday, ND the son of Albert E. and Alma (Rohde) Twogood. He grew up and attended the Eagle Nest #3 country school in the Werner area. After his schooling Bud enlisted into the US Army in 1945. He served as a Medical Aid in Marburg and Breman, Germany. Bud was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Dickinson where he began working for the Dickinson Music Company in 1956 and remained with them until 1976. Bud was married to Marie Louise Gagne on July 1, 1966 and they have made Dickinson their home since. Bud opened the M & M Musical Repair shop in 1976 and operated it until he retired. He was a charter member of the Amvet?s Post #22 of Dickinson, past member of the Eagles and the German-Hungarian. He was also an active member of the St. Anthony?s Club of Dickinson. Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with electronics and listening to old time music. In his younger years he enjoyed growing a garden, having an occasional yard of beer and pulling off a practical joke on someone. Survivors include, his wife, Louise Twogood, Dickinson, a son, Robert (Bonnie) Twogood, Dickinson; four daughters, Connie Vokal, Safety Harbor, FL, Cindy (Tim) Dukart, Dickinson, Colleen (Paul) Weiler, Rapid City, SD and Michelle (Phil Boyd) Twogood, Renton, WA; two brothers, Marvin (Ethel) Twogood and Louie (Jean) Twogood both of Dickinson; two sisters, Ethel (Laudie) Hibl and Ellie (Dave) Olheiser both of Dickinson; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchidlren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
