Meta Schlenvogt, age 89, of the Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin and formerly of Hebron, died Sunday, March, 4, 2007 at the Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2007 at 10:30 AM Central Time at St. John Church in Hebron with Pastor Ed Zuern, officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 3 until 8 at Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be held in St. John Cemetery in Hebron. Meta Helen Elsie Duckwitz was born October 27, 1917 on the family farmstead in rural Hebron, the daughter of Gustav and Lena (Oes) Duckwitz. She was raised on the farm and educated at Hebron. On June 4, 1940 she married Paul Schlenvogt at Hebron. Following marriage they farmed and had a dairy on the Schlenvogt place until retiring. Paul died December 24, 1992. Meta was active in the community with St. John Church, Women?s Guild, Hebron Historical Society, Morton County Historical Society, the Happy Home Makers, and the Senior Citizens. When Meta entered the Marian Manor in February of 1996 she became active in that community by being involved on the Resident?s Governing Council, of which she was a past president. Her smile and gentle nature will be missed by the many that knew her. Those left to share the legacy of her love include: her sons: Tim and his wife Jeanette, of Brighton, CO, and Robert of New England, ND; her grandchildren: Kelly Dosch, Michael Schlenvogt, Patrick Schlenvogt, Shauna Barth, Robin Schlenvogt, Karl Schlenvogt, Shahara Roe; Jimmie Dorsey, Jodi Smith, Norma Wilkes, Tony Wilkes and 20 great grandchildren. Meta also leaves two sisters: Elizabeth Tollefson, Dickinson, and Ella Gerbig, of Amidon, ND.
