A Funeral Service for Michael F. Ehresman, 72 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, March 11, 2005 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson with Deacon Gene Morman officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p. m. MST Monday, March 14, 2005 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2005 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. After a courageous battle with cancer, Michael passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Health Center in Dickinson. He was born October 17, 1932 at Gladstone, ND, the son of Michael and Mary (Paul) Ehresman. He attended school at St. Joseph?s Grade School and Dickinson High School, graduating in 1949. He entered the US Army on May 1, 1950 and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1953. Michael was married to Rose Marie Kuhn on November 29, 1955 at Dickinson. Michael worked for Burlington Northern Railroad from 1954 to 1960 and was a Supervisor for the U. S. Postal Service from 1961 to 1990. After his retirement from the Postal Service, he spent his time traveling to national parks throughout the west and developed a passion for natural scenery. He served as a Stark County Commissioner for four terms and as the Civil Defense Director from 1962 to 1972. Michael was a life member of the Dickinson Elk?s Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie of Dickinson; five sons: Kerry Ehresman of Dickinson, Barry Ehresman (Julie Klein) of Dickinson, Michael K. (Geraldine) Ehresman of Santa Cruz, CA, Tom (Karen) Ehresman of Lakeville, MN and Chuck Ehresman of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Nancy (Deren) Williams of Windsor, CO; eight grandchildren: Shannon (Mary) Weflan), Cory Ehresman, Brandon Ehresman, Maggie Parks, Laura Hines, Mitch Ehresman, Zach Ehresman and Carley Williams; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Bertha Wanner, Rose Dukart and Eleanor Weber all of Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.
