Michael Roney

Michael L. Roney, age 53, of Dickinson, ND formerly of Glendive, MT was called home by our heavenly father on Monday, October 6, 2008 after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis at his home with family by his side. Memorial services will be 2 p. m. , Friday, October 10, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive, MT with Father Joseph Ponessa celebrating. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered at a later date. Michael was born June 14, 1955 in Glendive, Montana, the son of David ?Bud? and LaBonna (Stoner) Roney. He attended grades 1 ? 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated from DCHS in 1973. While in school Michael excelled as an athlete in baseball, football and track and field. After graduation, Michael was an accomplished carpenter for many years and he started his own contracting business, Mike L. Roney Construction. He lived every day to the fullest on the prairies of Eastern Montana. Michael loved to hunt, pick agates and enjoy the countryside along the Yellowstone River, always looking for the ?Big Kahuna. ? He loved to spend time with family, friends and neighbors always leaving them laughing with one of his jokes. He married his best friend, Linda Hufford on May 29, 1982. Those blessed to share in his life were, his wife, Linda, two sons, Philip (Jessie) Taylor, Christopher (Kim) Hufford, and two daughters, Darcy (Simon) Ochs and Lisa Sletten; his six grandchildren, Dylan, Lane, Mathias, Bryce, Nathan, and Taylor; a brother, Patrick Roney; two sisters, Kathleen (Bob) Prescott and Nancee (Darrin) Keller; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud, his Grandma Stoner, Grandma Larsen, a nephew, Matthew; a niece Samantha and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Helen Erhardt. We will miss you dearly Michael and will always hold you close to our hearts. Your courage and your sense of humor was a gift to all of us.
