Mike was born May 23, 1926 in the St. Joseph area south of Glen Ullin. He was the second of nine children of Alfonse and Rose (Emter) Glasser. Mike grew up and attended School in the St. Joe area. After the 8th grade he helped his dad on the farm and raised registered Herford cattle. Mike loved horses and spent many hours training them. Mike worked at Lake Tschida building the dam from 1948-50. He married Patsy Schantz, October 2, 1951 at Sacred Heart in Glen Ullin. Not ready to completely retire, Mike started a hobby business hauling livestock. In 1999 Mike felt it would be good community service to open and operate the Laundromat in town. The building burned in April of 1999 nearly claiming his life. Mike enjoyed a good joke, especially telling it in German. He had a great love of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed time spent with them. His hobbies included traveling, fishing, and a good rodeo. Mike had been very active in his community. He belonged to the St. Joe Men?s Society, devoted third and fourth degree KC member, finance committee of Sacred Heart, treasurer of the rural school board, Glen Ullin Weighing Assn, Glen Ullin Saddle Club, Hebron elevator board, and was a brand inspector for many years.
