Funeral Mass for Mike Krush, 91, of Dickinson will be 1:00 p. m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel, celebrating. Burial will take place in the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the William C. Blair Post #144.
Visitation will take place from 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service taking place at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue from 8:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. on Thursday.
Mike passed away Sunday, April 07, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson, ND.
Mike Krushevsky was born February 8, 1922, the son of Fred and Barbara (Jorawsky) Krushevsky. He grew up in rural Belfield, attending Klym School in Billings County. Mike entered the military on September 16, 1940 in Sidney, MT, serving in the Company A 163 D Infantry. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sargent on June 20, 1945 at Fort Snelling, MN. Mike returned home to graduate in 1946 from Model High in Dickinson and then went on to attend Hansen Mechanical Trade School, graduating in 1949. He began working for Amoco Standard Oil in Dickinson. On June 7, 1955, Mike was united in marriage to Josephine Mann in Belfield, ND. To this union, Arnold, Gail, Alan, and Robert were born. In 1960, the couple returned to the farm northeast of Belfield, where they raised their family. In 1987, Mike and Jo purchased a farm and cattle operation west of Lefor, farming there until 2003, when they retired. They moved to Dickinson and have lived there since. Mike was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus #6310, VFW, American Legion #144 and Disabled American Veterans #8.
Mike is survived by his wife, Josephine (Jo); daughter, Gail Glaesemann of Elk, WA; sons, Arnold of Enid, OK, Alan of ElSegundo, CA and Robert of Sugarland, TX; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, George and Paul of Belfield; sister, Ann Anheluk of Belfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Casmir, Ludwina, Anton, John, Pete, Alex, Lenora, Mary Geesey, Helen Prociv, and Antoinette Carlson.
