Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred Kadrmas, 92, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack and Father Chris Kadrmas concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation is 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Mildred passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010, at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Mildred Fisher was born August 17, 1917, to Vincent and Anna (Ficek) Fisher in South Heart, ND. Mildred grew up in South Heart and attended boarding school at Sts. Peter and Paul School in New Hradec for five years. She married Joe J. Kadrmas on October 26, 1938. They moved to a farm northwest of Dickinson where they raised grain, dairy cattle, beef cattle. To this union, four children were born: Joan, Arnold, Linda, and Doug. They moved into Dickinson in 1976 where they have made their home since. Mildred was a self-taught quilter, whose work graces the homes of many family members. She also enjoyed crocheting and rug making. She showed her love for family by providing countless home cooked meals (with handmade skinny noodles) and was an excellent baker. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and simply watching ?Mother Nature. ? She had great skill in card games. Mildred highly valued the long-term friendships made in the Good Neighbors Homemakers Club and was a member of the Catholic Daughters for 50 years. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Joe; her children: Joan (Andrew) Schmidt, Dickinson, ND, Arnold (Gayle) Kadrmas, Lewiston, ID, Linda (Michael Schaal) Kadrmas, St. Paul, MN, and Douglas Kadrmas of Aberdeen, SD; nine grandchildren: Nancy (Martin) Betts, Robert (Melissa) Schmidt, Kenn (Kari) Schmidt, Mark Schmidt, Gregory Schmidt, Mike (Stephanie) Kadrmas, Dan (Julie) Kadrmas, Aaron (Samantha) Kadrmas, and Ellen Schaal; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Martha Kadrmas and Mary Maupin, both of Dickinson, ND; a sister-in-law: Gladys Fisher, Dickinson, ND; and one brother: Joseph (Clara) Fisher, Dickinson, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Emma Dvorak; brothers, Adolph, Albert, and Vincent; and one grandson, Alan Schmidt.
