Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred A. Splichal, 86, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. Friday July 6, 2007, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Charlie Heidt celebrating. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Thursday July 5, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p. m. Mildred passed away Sunday July 1, 2007 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Mildred Salonick was born October 12, 1920 in South Heart, ND to Pantley and Anna (Kostelecky) Salonick. She grew up and attended school in South Heart and later in Gladstone. As a young woman, she helped out on the family farm. She married Jerry J. Splichal on October 21,1941 in Dickinson. They made Dickinson their home where they raised their family. Mildred worked for many years as a housekeeper for St. Patrick?s Catholic Church and after her retirement, she continued to work for others needing help. She loved to go dancing and to casinos with friends. She enjoyed baking and was considered a wonderful cook. She will be especially remembered for her candy and cookies. Mildred also volunteered many hours every year at St. Benedict?s Health Center, as well as other nursing homes. She is survived by: her daughters, Geraldine (John) Munson, Lakewood, CO, Shirley (Fred) Gengler, Dickinson, Nancy (Larry) Keller, Gillette, WY, Mary Kaye Hledik, Dickinson, and Barbara (Dennis) Ulmer, Dickinson; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Anton ?Tony? Salonick, Dickinson; one sister, Dorothy Schutz, Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Jerry; three sisters, Emma Kadrmas, Rose Roller, and Tillie Schutz; a son-in-law, Wayne Hledik. .
