Funeral Mass for Monica Reichert, 86, Bismarck, is Thursday, April 3, 2003, at 10:00 a. m. at Queen of Peace Parish with Father David Morman, celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Wednesday 2, 2003, at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with a vigil at 7:00p. m. Monica passed away Monday, March 31, 2003, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. She was born to Charles and Jane McLauglin in Worthington, MN on October 14, 1916. She attended Cathedral Grade School and High School in Sioux Falls, SD graduating in 1934. She majored in Social Sciences at St. Mary of the Woods in Terra Hante, IN and George Washington, D. C. Monica joined the Red Cross during WWII and served in Japan after the war. She later worked for American Airlines. In 1951, she met her husband, Donald J. Reichert, MD, while they were both vacationing in Acapulco, Mexico. They were married July 5, 1952 in St. Joseph?s Cathedral, Sioux Falls, SD. They honeymooned at Rutgers Bay Lodge in Minnesota. Monica was a member of the Medical Auxiliary, The Monday Club, and ND Democratic NPL Party. She served as a Regent of the Catholic Daughters of Court St. Catherine, No. 323, 1966-68. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, movies and politics. She is survived by her four sons and two daughters-in-law: James, Minnetonka, MN, John and Julie Carrollton, TX, Mark and Alvina, Bismarck, ND and Paul, Dallas, TX; three grandchildren: Meghan, Geoffrey, and Thomas, Bismarck, ND; step-grandson: A. J. Davis, Carrollton, TX; and two sisters: Marcella Fanning, Martin, SD and Joan Dawson, Wilmington, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Reichert, two sisters: Charlotte and Marian McLaughlin and two brothers: Victor and Virgil McLaughlin. The family prefers memorials to the Donald J. Reichert Memorial fund c/o UND Medical School, Grand Forks, ND.
