Funeral mass for Monica Tooley, 90 of Dickinson will be 10 a. m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND with Father Austin Vetter celebrating. Burial will follow at St Patrick?s Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 10 a. m. to 9 p. m. Friday, January 11, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service at 8 p. m. Monica passed away Wednesday, January 09, 2008 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center Dickinson. Monica was born May 10, 1917 in Fayette, ND the daughter of Anton and Magdulen (Berger) Kary. She grew up in the Fayette area and attended rural Fayette schools. Monica helped on the farm and did some housework in Dickinson before her marriage. On April 12, 1937 Monica and Percy D. ?Pat?Tooley were married in the chapel of St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson. Together, they made Dickinson their home. Upon Pat?s death in 1956, Monica then went to work at various employments over the years. She worked as a clerk at King?s Bakery for eighteen years and then as a waitress at Woolworth?s. In 1976, she retired because of health reasons. Monica was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 323 since 1948. She also was a member of the Prayer of Praise group. She enjoyed playing cards and worked cross word puzzles daily. She had a green thumb and enjoyed caring for her many plants. Monica was well known for her German potato salad and baked beans. She was a loving mother who found the good in all situations. Monica is survived by two sons: Darrell Tooley, Dickinson, ND and David (Bette) Tooley, Hunter, ND; two daughters; Mary Ellen (Dan) Schnell, Vida, OR and Carrol Tooley, Dickinson, ND ; ten grandchildren; great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Ema Muth,Dickinson, ND, Bridget (Steve) Schwindt,Dickinson, ND and Catherine (John) Murphy, Sutherlin, OR. ; a sister in-law; Barbara Kary, Dickinson, ND;She was preceded in death by: both parents; husband, Pat; son Donald; brothers; Valentine and Mike; five sisters; Elizabeth Hutmacher, Rose Nicklon Barbara Schwindt, Ann Bahmer and Beatrice Hienert.
