Monika Kudrna

Monika Kudrna, 72, of Dickinson, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at her home in Dickinson. In accordance to Monika’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services were held.

Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, at a later date.

Monika Sturmer was born June 22, 1949 to Fritz and Helen (Bernhard) Sturmer in Heidelberg Germany. She grew up in Germany, attending school in Heidelberg and graduating in 1967. Following graduation, Monika was blessed with two daughters; Mary Helen and Loretta Ann. Monika moved to Dickinson in December of 1978 and made it her home ever since. While in Germany, she met Eugene Kudrna and they were married in 1979. Monika enjoyed spending her time traveling, gardening, and shopping. She enjoyed visiting with her family and sipping coffee on Saturday mornings. Monika loved eating candy, especially chocolates and desserts. She found great pride in spending time with her grandson, Michael and granddaughters, Dudley and Penelope.

Monika is survived by her husband, Eugene; daughters, Mary Helen (Jeff) Duttenhefer and Loretta Ann (Troy) Heidt; grandson, Michael; and granddaughter, Penelope.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ursula and Renata, and granddaughter Dudley.
