A funeral service for Myrtle A. Stanhope, 82, of Baker, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Bonnievale Cemetery.
Visitation for Myrtle will take place Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Myrtle Arlene Hudson was born August 30, 1935 in Ollie, MT, the daughter of Bert and Carol (Stark) Hudson. Growing up, she attended school in Ollie thru 8
th
grade, at which time she attended Baker High School graduating in 1953. On September 8, 1953, Myrtle married Lyle Stanhope in Miles City, MT. They lived together at Fort Lewis, WA while Lyle served in the US Army. Following his discharge in 1955, they followed the oil pipeline construction and lived in Dupuyer, Missoula, Harlowton and Bridger, MT. After Lyle graduated welding school, they moved to Kingman, AZ and were blessed with a son, Brett, in April 1958. The family moved back to Baker and started their business, L & M Welding. The family grew in June 1967 as they were blessed with a daughter, Allison. After their welding business was sold in 1982, Myrtle became a CNA at the Fallon Medical Complex and a corrections officer for the Fallon County Sheriff’s Office. Myrtle enjoyed going to garage and yard sales, collecting knick knacks, and visiting family in Baker and Texas.
Myrtle Stanhope passed away Monday evening, July 2, 2018 at Fallon Medical Complex surrounded by her family.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Brett (Erin) Stanhope of Sherman, TX; daughter, Allison (Don) Wyrick of Baker, MT; sisters, Delores (Vern) Veroye of Baker, MT; Marguerite (Sam) Fisher of Baker, MT; grandchildren, Jason (A.J.) Stanhope, Mariah (Carl) Phea, Kerry Stanhope, Brad (Crystal) Stanhope, Robert (Corey) Stanhope, Matthew (Tanisha) Stanhope, Eric Wyrick, Tyler (Bethany) Wyrick, Mikenna Wyrick, and Justin Wyrick; great-grandchildren, Aria, Ashley, Aysha, Colston, Drama, Ellie, Giovanni, Karma, Kelsey, Mason, Sarenitee, Seloria, and Wyatt; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by husband Lyle; her parents, Bert & Carol Hudson; and her brother, Delbert (Joann) Hudson.
