A Family Memorial Service and Inurnment for Myrtle M. ?Mert? Taylor, 94, of Frederic, MI will be held later this spring in Maple Forest Township. In honoring Mom?s wishes, cremation has taken place. Mert passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday, January 17, 2011, in rural Maple Forest Township east of Frederic following a short battle with cancer. Myrtle Mae Taylor was born on August 14, 1916, a daughter of Henry and Ida Mae (Walker) Verlinde at Frederic, MI. Mert spent most of her life living in Maple Forest Township and Frederic, where she raised her children, Lee, Lynn, Nona, Faron, Buddy and Maryann. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. In the summer months she sold and delivered raspberries to many of the locals. When not working in her garden she could be found going to garage sales or just taking a drive through the country. Her quiet time was spent crocheting; she loved to make afghans for her family. Mert was still actively crocheting two weeks prior to her being diagnosed with cancer this past November. Mert enjoyed the peaceful and quiet life in the country. She enjoyed the visits from her family, relatives and friends. Mert is survived by her children, Lee Charron, Irons, MI, Lynn (Mary) Charron, Maple Forest Township, Nona (Tom) Muckle, Baker, MT, Faron Taylor, Baker, MT, Buddy (Denise) Taylor, Maple Forest Township and Maryann (David) Schenke, Johannesburg, MI; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Helen Cram, Flint, MI, Biddy (Kenny) Allen, Flint, MI and June Wilcox (Chum), Waters, MI; her brother, Jim (Barb) Verlinde, Frederic, MI; a special; niece, Roxann and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mae, and her daughter-in-law, Sandy Charron, both husbands, Liland Charron and Bud Taylor, a sister, Fern Verlinde and 2 brothers-in-law, Roland Wilcox and Jim Cram.
