Funeral services for Myrtle Yates, 100, of Ekalaka, MT will be 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka with Pastor Gary Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Beaver Lodge Cemetery at Ekalaka. Visitation for Myrtle will be from 9:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka, MTMyrtle passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Dahl Memorial Health Center in Ekalaka. Myrtle Yates was born June 5, 1908 a daughter of Thomas and Rose (Wise) Johnston at the family ranch in the Ridgway area of Carter County, MT. Myrtle was one of four girls born to Thomas and Rose. Myrtle grew up on the family ranch and attended country school and later Carter County High School in Ekalaka where she graduated. In July of 1926, Myrtle married Bert Yates in Baker, MT. To this union Alberta, Richard and Phyllis were born. After Myrtle moved into Ekalaka from the ranch, she was employed as a cook for Dahl Memorial Healthcare for 27 years. Myrtle moved into Dahl Memorial Healthcare Nursing Home on June 14, 2002. She is survived by her children, a daughter Alberta Pulse, of Ekalaka, MT, a son, Richard (Celia) Yates of Hammond, MT and a daughter Phyllis (Lloyd) Townsend, of Ekalaka, MT; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren and 8 step- great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rose, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.
