Funeral services for Nadine E. Ketterling, age 79, will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Walker Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming with Celebrant Vickie Kissack. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Plevna, Montana. Nadine Ketterling died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Close to Home Hospice House in Gillette, Wyoming after a short and strong battle with cancer. Nadine E. Ketterling was born on November 30, 1932 the daughter of Myron & Ruth (Elstad) Timmons in Miles City, Montana. She was raised in Miles City, Montana. She graduated high school in 1950. After high school, Nadine attended nursing school in Miles City and graduated with a RN degree in nursing. Nadine married Rupert Ketterling on December 27, 1954 in Billings, Montana. The couple lived in Montana until 1963 when they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where they made their home. In 1975, they moved to Casper, Wyoming where Nadine lived until Rupert passed away in 1991 and she returned back to Gillette to be closer to her family. Nadine enjoyed traveling with her daughter Shelley. She also loved traveling to many places to research her family history. Nadine was also instrumental in helping many others find out more about their family history. While in Gillette, Nadine loved doing volunteer work at the Campbell County Public Library and was president of the Campbell County Genealogy Society. She also spent many hours at the Senior Center as a volunteer for anything she could help with. Nadine loved spending time with her family and friends and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Nadine is survived by her children, Jeff (Margie) Ketterling of Gillette, Wyoming: Shelley Ketterling of Phoenix, Arizona: grandchildren Holly (Dave) Tate and Kimberly Ketterling, one great granddaughter, Kylee Ann Tate. Brothers Myron (Jan) Timmons Jr. of conifer, Colorado and Norman (Darla) Timmons of Bozeman, Montana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert, her parents, and two sisters, Ernestine Timmons and Dorreen (Joe) Papez. In lieu of flowers, Nadine would like donations made to the Campbell County Public Library to buy books for the Genealogy department in her name.
