A Rosary and Liturgy of the Word Service for Nancy Gerou, 58, of Dickinson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Stockert celebrating.  Burial will take place in St. Pius Catholic Cemetery, Scheffield.


Visitation for Nancy will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.


Nancy passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.


Nancy Arlene Herauf was born February 17, 1959 in Dickinson, the daughter of Valentine and Margaret (Schultz) Herauf.  She grew up and attended school at St Pius in Scheffield.  Nancy was blessed with four sons, Perry, Joey, Travis and Karl.  Throughout her life Nancy worked various jobs but was mostly a stay at home mom.  In her later years, she adopted three grandchildren; Alijah, Jayden and Chaseon.


Nancy enjoyed spending time sewing, crocheting, cooking and playing darts and was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.


Nancy is survived by her children, Perry (Mandi) Stagl of Grand Forks, Joey Stagl of Dickinson, Karl Gerou of Dickinson; nine grandchildren, Jessica Kowalczyk, Cole Kowalczyk, Bailey Stagl, Preston Stagl, Breanne Stagl, Alijah Stagl, Jayden Stagl, Chaseon Stagl and Nevaeh Bohrer; two brothers, Ron (Alvina) Herauf of Billings MT, Stan (Charlene) Herauf of Faribault, MN; and a sister, Judy (Mark) Anthony of Dickinson.


She was preceded in death by her parents; son Travis Stagl; and a brother, Doug Herauf.
