A graveside service for Nathaniel Watts, 54, of South Heart, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Heart. Pastor Ron Hodson will officiate the service.

Nathaniel passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown.

Nathaniel was a much beloved son, brother, father and uncle.  He graduated from Aztec New Mexico Highschool in 1987.  He worked as an oilfield technician and CDL driver for many years in San Juan County New Mexico.  Nathaniel was injured in a motorcycle accident in 2015 in which he suffered a brain injury from which he never completely recovered and the injury finally caused his death.  He had many beloved co-workers and friends. He loved to ride motorcycles and ATVs and he was a talented water skier in his younger days. Nathaniel has been living in South Heart, North Dakota with his parents: father David Watts, now deceased, and his mother Kathleen Watts. Nathaniel now rests in the arms of his beloved creator.   Nathaniel is survived by his sons Patrick Watts of Lubbock, Texas and Daniel Watts of San Juan County New Mexico.  He is also survived by his brother Aaron Watts (Mechel) and children Austin, Quiahna, Draven and Eli of South Heart.  Sister Melissa Countryman (Aaron) of Bayfield, Colorado their children Jason, Lindsey, Brian and Jesse. Uncle Perry Watts and son Colin (Dana), aunt Betty Watts and cousins: Preston (Cynthia) Watts, and Pam Collins. Aunt Carol Dean cousins Todd Rohwer & April Doss, Aunt Jeanette Ellis and cousins Hilary Soria and Jessica Stutz, Aunt Sandy Schlauger and cousin Lisa Hartman.  Nathaniel was preceded in death by his grandparents Virgil and Margaret Watts, uncle Vernon Watts, and grandparents Manuel and Virginia Schlauger.  Graveside services will be Thursday June 22, at 10:00am with celebration of life following at family home in South Heart.
