Mass of Christian Burial for Naureen Metz, 63, of Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Friday, May 27, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Visitation for Naureen will be Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p. m. Naureen passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at her home in Bismarck, surrounded by her family. Naureen Maye Dvorak was born April 2, 1948, in Dickinson, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Sadowsky) Dvorak. She was the third oldest of 14 children born to Albert and Mary. Naureen grew up and attended schools in Dickinson. During her high school years at Trinity, Naureen was a cheerleader for the basketball team and won the heart of basketball player, Arnie Metz. On August 16, 1966, Naureen and Arnie were united in marriage in Dickinson. To this union one daughter, Jodi, was born. After graduating from high school, Naureen began working as a secretary for her father at Dvorak Motor Company. She went on to become the Parish Secretary for Father Pribyl at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Later, Naureen became secretary for Don Kukowski and received her real estate license in 1975. She worked for Carlson Homes for three years before moving to Joe LaDuke Real Estate Company where she became a partner. Naureen went on to own and operate Century Investors. In 2010, Naureen and Arnie moved to Bismarck where she completed her 35 years as a realtor with Bianco Real Estate. Naureen served as President of the Badlands Board of Realtors from 1993-1995 and the North Dakota Real Estate Commission from 1995-1996. Naureen enjoyed bowling, sun tanning in her favorite sand chair at the cabin, playing scrabble, shopping and chocolate. She will always be remembered for her love of wearing flip flops. Naureen loved and enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. They were the loves of her life. Naureen is survived by her husband, Arnie, Bismarck; one daughter Jodi (Robert) Pirkl, Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Brittni and Blake Pirkl, Rapid City, SD; three brothers, Alvin (Phyliss) Dvorak, Topeka, KS, Curt (Rita) Dvorak, Dickinson, ND, DeLayne (Kim) Dvorak, Bismarck, ND; ten sisters, Shirlene (Larry) Bisek, New Prague, MN, Darlene (Wally) Thompson, Dickinson, ND Colleen (Glenn) Kaisershot, Glen Carbon, IL, Mary Jean (Frank) Baysore, Aurora, CO, Sandee (Clyde) Perzinski, South Heart, ND, Debbie (Allen) Blasy, Grove City, MN, Daphne (Terry) Hutton, Parker, CO, Rhonda (Allen) Wolfe, Centennial, CO, Denice (Clarence) Roller, Bismarck, ND and Tina (Art) Bakke, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Dvorak. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Bismarck Hospice.
