A Memorial Service for Neil Grevious, 69, of Belgrade, MT will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Killdeer with Pastor Fred Neth and Pastor Joel Sauerwein officiating. Burial will be in the Killdeer Cemetery. Military Rites by the Ezra Barrows Post #46, Killdeer, ND.
Neil passed away Friday, June 3rd, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Neil Eldon Grevious was born October 18, 1941 in Killdeer, to Harvey and Minnie (Kummer) Grevious. He grew up in Killdeer with 9 brothers and sisters. He was the fourth son of Harvey and Minnie. After graduating from Killdeer High School, he served in the army for two years. Shortly after Neil married Donna M. Kowis on June 28th, 1965 in Killdeer and then moved to Seattle, WA. Two years later, they gave birth to twins, Brian and Cherie, and then 5 years later to their son Dean. Neil, always the entrepreneur at heart, began a Steel Fabricating Company that he owned and operated for 25 years. Upon retirement, Neil and Donna moved to Belgrade, MT with their adopted granddaughter Klarissa. There they helped their son Dean build his log home and their own home. Neil loved life. Each day was a new adventure and if the adventure wasn’t quite enough he’d create one and share his enthusiasm with all those he loved. He thrived on challenges; fail or succeed, it was always worth the effort and the fun of it. Above all, Neil loved his family and friends. His character was true. He was especially proud of and heartedly loved his 8 grandchildren, sharing his passion of life with each of them. Whether it was sporting events, cooking, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening or something new he gave it his all.
Neil is survived by his wife, Donna, Belgrade, MT; two sons, Brian (Naomi) Grevious, Seattle, WA., and Dean (Lisa) Grevious, Belgrade, MT and daughter, Cherie (Rick) Neth, Belgrade, MT. Also grateful to have shared in Neil’s life are siblings Gerald (LaDonna) Grevious, Darl (Coty) Grevious, Madella Kruckenberg, Roger (Eloise) Narveson, Wanda Davis, Austin Grevious, Dexter (Tracy) Grevious; and sister-in-law, Shirley (Grevious) Borg.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Minnie, stepfather Jack Olson, his brother Denver Grevious, and brother-in-law Norman Kruckenberg.
