Norbert Zastoupil

A Funeral Mass for Norbert Zastoupil, 75, of New Hradec, will be 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec with Father Bill Ruelle celebrating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation for Norbert will be 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Wednesday, October 1st at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Norbert passed away, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his farm. Norbert was born October 6, 1938 on the family homestead south of Dickinson, the son of Joseph Sr. and Rose (Kostelecky) Zastoupil. Growing up, he attended Ash Coulee School (south of Dickinson) through the eighth grade. Norbert also attended Wahpeton School of Science for diesel mechanic. On April 4, 1961, Norbert married Gladys Mary Binstock. To this union, Mike, Deb, Myron, Darla, Mark and Peggy were born. The family lived on a farm near New Hradec. Norbert maintained the farm and livestock, while proudly working various jobs and enjoying many working experiences. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, square dancing, playingguitar and accordian, old-time and western music, fishing, trapping, bingo, playing cards and coffee with his friends and family. Norbert was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the church council for Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec. Norbert is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons, Mike (Karen) and Myron (Pam) of Dickinson, Mark (Rhonda) of Killdeer; daughters, Deb (Curt) Murdy of Andover, MN, Darla (Russ) Kuhn of Lefor, Peggy (Curt) Tuhy of Rapid City, SD; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Benedict (Gladys), David (Delores), Bernard (Bernie), Daniel (Jean), Joseph; sisters, Renee and Rosanne Zastoupil; and sister-in-law, Georgianne Zastoupil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Rose; brother, Martin Zastoupil; sister-in-law, Alice Zastoupil.
