Funeral Services for Norma J. Schlenvogt, 61 of New England will be 1:00 p. m. Friday, June 16, 2006 at New England High School in New England with Pastor Jim Oakland officiating. Burial will be at 6:30 p. m. CST in St. John?s Cemetery in Hebron. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2006 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Norma Jean Schlenvogt received her angel wings Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, North Dakota. Norma was born February 1, 1945, the daughter of Dan and Esther (Unruh) Aipperspach in Eureka, South Dakota. She attended country school near Wing, North Dakota and continued her education in the Bismarck Public School System, graduating in 1963. Norma attended Dickinson State University and graduated in 1967. She taught at Dickinson High, Dodge, St. Gertrude High in Raleigh, North Dakota, St. Mary?s in New England, and New England Public schools. Norma?s love of life was teaching. She gave her students every possibility to be successful. She was named Who?s Who Among American High School Teachers by her students, five times. Norma cared deeply for her children and her students. Norma always made sure her grandchildren enjoyed reading and she stressed the importance of reading. She was very artistic in drawing and painting, as well as music. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Norma was a member of the National Education Association and Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church. Norma is survived by her husband, Robert Schlenvogt, New England, ND; her mother, Esther Rattei, Ashley, ND; three children, Kelley (Dan) Dosch, Reno, NV; Shauna (Mike) Barth, New Salem, ND; Shahara (Nathan) Roe, Watertown, SD; four step-children, Michael (Kari) Schlenvogt, Valley City, ND; Patrick (Denise) Schlenvogt, Valley City, ND; Robin Schlenvogt, Dallas, TX; Karl Schlenvogt, Tucson, AZ; one brother, Jim (Rosie) Aipperspach, Des Moines, IA; two sisters, Wanda Heidrich, Strasburg, ND; Lorie (Mike) Adolf, Dickinson, ND; fifteen grandchildren, Spencer, Sierra, Savannah, Seth, Jacob, AshLynn, Kole, Trysten, Jacey, Chandler, Bailey, Cody Michael, Megan, Pat and Tiffany, her mother-in-law, Meta Schlenvogt, Glen Ullin, ND, and a brother-in-law, Tim (Jeanette) Schlenvogt, Brighton, CO. She was preceded by her father, Daniel Aipperspach, who was always her hero, her father-in-law, Paul Schlenvogt, and brother-in-law, Arnold Heidrich. An education fund has been established through New England High School, PO Box 307, New England, ND 58647.
