Norman Jesperson

Funeral services for Norman "Norm" Jesperson, 92, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Dickinson with Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating.  Inurnment to follow in Dickinson Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Norm passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Country House in Dickinson.

Norman A. Jesperson was born October 8, 1930 with his twin sister Geraldine, to parents Jasper and Frances (Breckon) Jesperson in Richardton, ND. Norman enjoyed a rich life filled with family and friends.

Norman graduated from Taylor High school and continued his education at Dickinson State College before earning a Master’s Degree from Northern Colorado (Greeley). Norman was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Hardmeyer on June 16, 1951 in Taylor. He began his career teaching history and social studies, and later served as Principal at Lincoln Elementary School in Dickinson for over 25 years. He enjoyed his retirement in Mesa, AZ.

Family was the most important to him. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He and Bonnie traveled many miles supporting their athletic endeavors, especially football and gymnastics.

Norman is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Randi (Doug) Hall, Brian (Jane) Jesperson, Kent (Linette) Jesperson, Beth (Curt) Kainz, and Karlin (Roy) Teigland; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents Jasper and Frances; brothers William Jesperson and Leland Jesperson; sisters Geraldine Schilla, Ethel Jesperson, and Mavis Berger; son James; grandson Troy Hall; and great-granddaughter Addison Graff.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jesperson Family Scholarship Fund at the DSU Heritage Foundation, or to St. John Lutheran Church.
