Funeral Services for Norman T. Thompson, 75, of Baker, MT will be at 2:30 p. m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. on Friday, January 2nd, at Stevenson Funeral Home. Norman passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Norman Thomas Thompson was born the son of Peander T. and Ida (Tollefson) Thompson in Fargo, ND on August 21, 1933. Norman grew up on the family farm at Kindred, ND where he attended school. Following school, Norman went to work for the City of Fargo, where he worked for 40 years. Norman met Linda Ray Bjorge and the two were married on March 8, 1981 in Detroit Lakes, MN. Also joining this union were Linda?s three sons whom Norman adopted, Bradley, William and Brian. After their marriage, Norman and Linda lived in Fargo until 1991 when they moved to Baker, MT. Norman was a member of the North Dakota Army National Guard and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Fargo. In his spare time, Norman enjoyed racing sprint cars which took him to races in Canada and the surrounding states and bowling. During his retirement years in Baker, Norman kept busy doing yard work, outside maintenance for different people. Norman wasn?t one for sitting around and growing old. Norman is survived by his wife, Linda Thompson, Baker, MT; three sons, Bradley Thompson, Baker, MT, William Thompson, Butte, MT and Brian (Samantha) Thompson, Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Noah Thompson, Gabriel Thompson and Luke Thompson all of Fargo, ND and his two sisters, Phyllis Wilson, Fargo, ND and Harriet (Gerald) Kuehl, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peander and Ida Thompson. Arrangements are under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
