Obert M. Haugen, 79, rural Amidon, died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be 1 p. m. Monday, December 18, 2006, at Lebanon Lutheran Church, Amidon. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Amidon. Visitation will be 1 p. m. to 5 p. m. , Sunday, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a prayer service at 1:30 p. m. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Obert Milford Haugen was born November 17, 1927, to Paul and Luella (Holler) Haugen at Amidon, ND. He attended White Lake grade school and graduated from New England High School. In his younger years he enjoyed flying his own plane, a Piper Cub. He was a 4-H leader. Obert was a township assessor and worked road construction for many years. He was a farmer working with his father. He never married. He is survived by: three sisters, Mary Oberlander, New England, Rosella (Edward) Schwartz, New England, and Alice (DeLane) Woehl, Dickinson; one brother, Donald Dale (Annette) Haugen, New England; two sisters-in-law, Ann Haugen, Scranton and Betty Haugen, New England and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, three brothers, Paul in infancy, Palmer, Orville, and one sister, Willa Barton.
