Odean Bendixson

Funeral Services for Odean Bendixson, 90, Watford City, will be 11:00 a.m. CT, Thursday, August 31, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Watford City. Burial will follow at Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.

Visitation for Odean will be an hour prior to the service at the church.

Odean passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Marian Manor Health in Glen Ullin.

Odean Bendixson was born December 19, 1932 to Oscar and Marie (Benson) Bendixson. He grew up and helped on the family farm near Zahl, North Dakota. Odean graduated from Grenora High School and then went on to Hansen Auto Body School in Wahpeton. On September 25, 1953 he married Lorraine Eliassen. The couple were blessed with three children, Miles, Sherrie and Hollie. Odean worked for various auto body shops before starting up B&H Body Shop and Wrecking Service in 1959. In 1998 Odean sold his business and retired.

Odean was a volunteer fire fighter for many years. He served on many boards, including the Roughrider Fund, First Lutheran Church, Watford City Council, and the Watford City Golf Course.

He enjoyed target shooting, riding snowmobiles, all sporting events, hunting, golfing, and fishing at his Lake Cabin out by McKenzie Bay.

Odean is survived by his children, Miles (Jackie) Bendixson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Hollie (Dale) Emter of Glen Ullin; grandchildren, Ted Bendixson, Mike (Ritah) Bendixson, Kevin Emter, Kayla (Dakota Schell) Emter, Mitchell (Teasha) Bettenhausen; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob (Maxine) Bendixson of Zahl; brother-in-law, Keith (Kathleen) Eliassen of Gilette, WY; sisters-in-law, Kay and Beverly Bendixson

 He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; parents, Oscar and Marie Bendixson; daughter, Sherrie; and siblings, Art Bendixson, Leroy Bendixson and Kay Ulledahl.
