Funeral Services for Olaf Olson, 97 of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Monday, February 21, 2005 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson with Pastor Aanen Gjovik officiating. Burial will follow in the Vang Lutheran CemeteryOlaf passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Olaf was born March 18, 1907 in Dunn County, the son of Haakon and Pernella Tappen Anderson Olson. He grew up and attended Big Flat Country School. He farmed with his father until 1949. Olaf moved south of Seattle, WA where he lived on the Vashor Island and worked for a greenhouse which raised flowers and shipped them all over the world. It was known as The Land Under Glass. Olaf worked there for 18 years before retiring. He moved back to the farm south of Warner where he lived until entering Evergreen Retirement Home. Olaf enjoyed traveling and driving around in the country. Survivors include a brother, Harold Olson of Dickinson; a sister, Helen Olson of Alameda, CA; a nephew, Dale Monson of St. Cloud, MN and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roy Olson and four sisters.
