Divine Liturgy of Chrisitian Burial for Helen Olga Baransky, 91 of Belfield, will be 10:00 a. m. Thursday, February 9, 2006 at St. John?s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Belfield with Father Taras Miles, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. John?s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Belfield. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2006 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Parastas at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Olga passed away Saturday, February 4, 2006 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. She was born November 23, 1914 on the family ranch near Gorham, ND, the daughter of Mike and Anna (Hlebechuk) Demianow. She attended the White Tail Grade School in Billings County. On October 31, 1933 Olga was married to Steve Baransky at St. Josephat?s Ukrainian Church at Gorham. The couple farmed and ranched in Billings County until 1944. They lived in Portland, OR before moving back to Belfield. During this time, Olga worked as an operator at the cream-station as well as a seamstress and later at various jobs in Belfield. Olga was very active with crafts, attending many local craft shows until she was well into her 80?s. She liked to travel, especially to the mountains. Of all the things Olga enjoyed, crocheting and sewing were her hobby and passion. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Josephat?s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gorham, St. John?s Ukrainian Catholic in Belfield, St. Mary?s Altar Society and the Ukrainian Cultural Institute. Survivors include a son, Steve J. Baransky of Belfied, ND; a daughter, Irene (Jerome) Askelson of Fargo, ND; a sister, Josephine Demianew of Belfield and a granddaughter, Mary Askelson of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Steve; an infant brother and an infant sister.
