Funeral services Olga Nupen, 93, Killdeer, will be at 1 p. m. , Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with Rev. Aanen Gjovik officiating. Interment will be in Whetstone Cemetery, rural Killdeer. Visitation will be 10 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday, March 9, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer, with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Olga passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer. Olga Sloan was born March 27, 1913 to Matt and Anna (Kassa) Sloan. She grew up in the Whetstone community with eight brothers and sisters and attended Richloam School in Dunn County. Olga married Arthur (Art) Nupen on July 29, 1933 in Manning, ND. They farmed and ranched west of Killdeer below the mountains along with their four children, Ardella, Shirley, Arnie, and Rodger. After Art?s passing in 1975, Olga continued to live on the family farm. She worked for the Green Thumb Program at the Dunn County nurses office for many years. In 1988, she moved to Killdeer. She enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding, walking, gardening, quilting, cooking and baking. She was well known for her caramel rolls and lefse. Olga was a very beautiful, patient and kind person who loved her family and friends. She will be remembered as the Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend that always had time to play a game of cards, put a puzzle together, go for a walk, pick flowers, bake or just sit and have a cup of coffee with family and friends. Olga was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. Her spirit and strength will continue to inspire and live in our hearts forever. Olga is survived by: her daughter, Ardella Bechtle, Bismarck; two sons, Arnold (Sydney) Nupen, Killdeer, and Rodger (Donna) Nupen, Longmont, CO; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dagmar Sloan, Killdeer. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Arthur; a daughter, Shirley Schwindt; brothers and sisters, Ole, Helge, Oscar, Margaret, Agnes (Peggy), Ragnhild, and Agnes; one son-in-law, Neil Bechtle. Olga passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer.
