Ora Benson ?Babe?, 89, of Richardton, after a long and fruitful life, passed from this life to be with the Supreme Maker, Friday, March 6, 2009 in Richardton, ND. Visitation will be on Tuesday March 10, 2009 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service being held at 7:00 pm at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron. Burial will be held in Payette, Idaho, later this week. Viola Ora Marple Nay was born January 18th, 1920 in Phoenix, AZ, the daughter of Ora Bertrum Nay and Amanda Ellen (Mclennan) Nay. As a child, the family had wanderlust and moved around, and finally settled in Las Vegas NV. On September 9th, 1936, she married Larry Lee. As these were hard times, they were constantly moving to where there was work. On March 30th, 1938, a son, Larry B. Lee, was born in Sacramento Ca. Ora worked hard to help take care of her son. She was an excellent cook, bartender, certified beautician and a certified cosmetologist. On June 25th, 1950, in Elko NV, she married her second husband, Claude A. Benson. They lived in Orofino, Idaho, until his death in 1971. She then moved to Jerome, Idaho to be closer to her son and grandchildren and lived there until 1993, when she moved to Hebron, North Dakota. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. As the matriarch, family always came first to her. Ora enjoyed gardening, reading, and looking out ?Her Kitchen Window?. She enjoyed writing those articles for the Hebron Hebron, which delighted readers, young and old, alike. She enjoyed telling stories of times long past and her crossword puzzles. She was a simple woman with not many needs and was always willing to give what little she had to those that needed it more. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Lee, her second husband, Claude Benson, and her son Larry B. Lee. She is survived by her grandchildren Shane Lee, Robin Lee, Bruce Lee, Travis Lee, Kelly Lee and many great-grandchildren.
