Devine Liturgy of Christian Burial for Paraska Belinski, 104, of Billings, MT, is Friday, March 14, 2003, 10:00 a. m. at St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield, ND with Fr. Taras Miles and Fr. Michael Belinsky, C. S. C. , concelebrating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Ukrainian Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, March 13, 2003, from 9:00 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel continuing at St. John’s Catholic Church from 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Parastas at 7:00 p. m. led by Fr. Taras Miles.


Paraska (Haverlock) Belinski died on Monday, March 3, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Retirement Home, Billings, MT where, she had been a resident since April 17, 1979.


Paraska was born to Joseph and Alice (Pawluk) Haverlock on August 5, 1898, in Galacia, Austria. She immigrated with her parents to the United States around 1900, settling in the Zenith-Belfield, ND area. Paraska married Nick Belinski on November 4, 1914, in Ukraina, ND in St. Demetrius Catholic Church. To this union were born three daughters and two sons. After their marriage, they homesteaded in the Badlands northwest of Belfield, moving briefly to the farming community of Belfield; thereafter moving to Little Falls, MN in 1937. In early 1940, the family moved to the Savage-Sidney, MT area, where they resided until their retirement in September 1960.


Paraska is survived by two sons, Sam Belinski, Austin, MN, Wm. (Lori) Belinski, Billings, MT; two daughters, Marie Basaraba, Columbia Falls, MT, Marcella (Victor) Paluch, Los Angeles, CA; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 28 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Katherine Haverlock, Los Angeles, CA, Genevieve Neesley, Corona, CA and one brother, Andrew Haverlock, Dickinson, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nick, one daughter, Pauline Tabatt, one grandson, Gregg Paluch, four brothers, Mike, John, Jim and Sam, two sisters, Anna Orbanosky, Mary Taraba, one daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law.


Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Home Chapel Fund, Billings, MT.
