Graveside services for Patricia Briggs, 80, of Dickinson, formerly of Wyoming, will be held at a later date in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Casper, Wyoming.
Patricia passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson, ND.
Patricia Jean Challender was born May 21, 1931 in Hanna, Wyoming, the daughter of Harry Morgan and Agnes (Milliken) Challender. She grew up and graduated from high school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. On October 9, 1949, Patricia married Gerald Keith Briggs. To this union two sons, Gerald Mark and Jeffrey Travis were born. They moved to Casper, where they lived and raised their sons. Patricia worked at various medical clinics for over 28 years as a medical assistant. She was very active in a Christian Women’s Group, IRMA Flats Mothers Club and Bible studies. Patricia loved to cook, garden, sing and play organ, talk on the phone, socialize and spend time with family. She also enjoyed and owned three Scotties named Seagriam’s. Due to failing health, she entered long term health care in Cody, Wyoming in 2004. She moved to Dickinson in 2006 to be closer to family. Patricia entered St. Luke’s Home where her life seemed to blossom. She was physically and mentally active and loved by many. Patricia was happy in Dickinson, near family and friends new and old, who she came to love. She enjoyed fellowship at Living Word Lutheran and especially listening to Pastor Tim Voth, both at church and at St. Luke’s Home.
Patricia is survived by her son, Jeff (Connie) Briggs of Dickinson; three grandchildren, Jacob (Pam) Briggs of Riverton, WY, Cristan (T. J. ) Limmer of Casper, WY, and Melissa Briggs of Gillette, WY; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald Keith; and son, Gerald Mark. Memorials may be given to Living Word Lutheran Church or St. Luke’s Home, both of Dickinson, North Dakota.
