Patricia Freese

Patricia F. Freese passed away Saturday, October 18, 2003 after a battle with cancer. Now she lays to rest with her beloved husband. Pat was born in Camp Crook, SD on January 25, 1934 to John Frank Dillon and Fern Mable (Hadcock) Dillon. She had seven brothers and sisters. Pat grew up on a farm five miles outside of Ekalaka, currently known as the Kittleman place. She talked fondly of being flown to school in Ekalaka by her brother Paul, who was a pilot. She graduated from Carter County high school in 1952. Pat married Francis J. Freese on April 15, 1954. They had three children, Michael L. Freese, Bradley F. Freese and Rodney A. Freese, all of Belgrade, MT. Fran, Pat and the kids spent a lot of time in hay camp and they also managed a gas station. Fran passed away on September 14, 1969 leaving Pat to raise her three boys. She could be seen at every one of her kids baseball and football games and track meets. She fished every creek bank with them and went on many hunting trips. She was very close with her sons. Pat was the secretary to the county attorney in Carter County for thirteen years and secretary of Carter County schools for fifteen years. In 1987 she moved to Bozeman, MT to be close to her kids and grandkids. She became the housemother for Chi Omega Sorority where she took care of forty girls every school year until March of 2003. Pat has four grandchildren, Andrew Michael Freese, 15 years; Matthew Francis Freese, 11 years; Dustin Patrick Freese, 7 years; and Dillon Carter Freese, 5 years. They were the love of her life and she would do anything for them. She babysat both Andrew and Dustin for the first year of their life and could always be counted on to help take care of the kids. Her survivors include one brother, Spud Dillon and wife Vel of Homer, Alaska, her three children, Mike (Terrie), Brad (Stefeni) and Rod, her four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fran; sisters, Margie Hubbard and Martha Peabody; and brothers, Paul, Virgil, Marvin and Algy Dillon.
