Funeral Service for Patrick Desmond, 71 of Killdeer formerly of Dickinson will be 2:00 p. m. Sunday, March 6, 2005 at St. John?s Lutheran Church with Rev. Aanen Gjovik officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Dale Cemetery north of Killdeer. Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2005, from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson, Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 10:00 a. m. to 7:00 p. m. continuing on Sunday from 9:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Killdeer. Patrick passed away Saturday, February 26, 2005 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Pat was born December 25, 1933 in Kenosha, Wisconsin the son of William and Helga (Brandvik) Desmond. He spent his early years in Kindred, ND where he attended rural schools and Kindred High School. His family moved to Killdeer in 1947. Pat graduated from the Killdeer High School in 1950. After working a year in Killdeer, Pat entered the University Of North Dakota. Pat joined the United States Army and spent his service in the paratroop corps in California. After his discharge, Pat returned to UND and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He spent a number of years in Idaho, returning to North Dakota in the late 60?s. He joined the TMI Company in Dickinson and spent 30 years there working as a computer programmer. After retiring, he moved back to Killdeer in the mid 90?s and had made his home there since. Pat loved the game of golf and was active for many years in starting a golf course in Killdeer. He served as secretary and bookkeeper for the Medicine Hole Golf Course. Pat was an active member of the St. John?s Lutheran Church and served on the church council, various committees and sang in the choir. Pat was a kind, gentle man, well loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the community. Survivors include, his sister, Beverly Dentzer, Killdeer; nephews, Steven Dentzer, Austin, TX, Jeffrey (Jill) Dentzer, Cleveland, OH, Michael Desmond, Bloomington, MN and Patrick Desmond, Columbus, South Carolina; a grand niece, Taylor Dentzer; cousins: William Brandvik, Killdeer, Morris (Mavis) Brandvik, Killdeer, Margie Bandle, Killdeer, Mike (Nancy) Brandvik, Bismarck, Wilma (Gene) Deleissegues, Gonzales, CA and many relatives from the Brandvik?s family in North Dakota and Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William Desmond and a brother-in-law, Karl Dentzer.
