Patrick passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Belfield. Patrick Wayne Steiner, son of John and Patricia (Kessel) Steiner, was born March 2, 1954 in Dickinson, ND. He lived in and around Belfield, ND for most of his life. Following his graduation from Belfield High School he worked for the Newton Honey Company and also briefly in the oil industry with Missouri Basin Well Service. He became passionate for beekeeping and incorporated his own bee business, The Steiner Honey Company, first with his brother Tyler Steiner and then with his nephew, Douglas Steiner. He wintered his bees in California where the bees pollinated the almond orchards; and at times, taking them also to Washington to pollinate the apple and cherry trees. In the spring and summer, he returned to ND to care and maintain the bee hives for honey production. Patrick married Joni Whitworth and raised their only son Jon, stepchildren Tara and Brook and nephew Douglas. Patrick enjoyed North Dakota living: bird hunting, fishing and the solace of rural life. Carefree childhood summers were spent on Lake Sakakawea camping, water skiing, fishing and roaming the prairies on a Honda 90, dirt bike. Pat liked playing cards especially pinochle and taking trips to Las Vegas. He enjoyed family vacations to Florida, Belize and Hawaii. In retirement Pat spent time fishing at Skunk Bay, tending his flower gardens and taking walks with his dog, Butters. Patrick will be remembered for his kind, gentle mannerisms, and his devotion and love towards his family. He is survived by his son, Jon Steiner; nephew, Douglas and sons, Brady, Chase and Jadyn; brothers, Bruce (Sharon) Steiner, Gary Steiner; sisters, Karla (Steve) Price, Jackie (Douglas) Ackerman; stepchildren, Tara Whitworth and Brook (Audrey) Rangeloff; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Patricia (Kessel) Steiner; brothers, Kurt Steiner, Tyler Steiner and sister, Jeri Steiner.
