Paul Sivak

A Liturgy of the Word service for Paul Sivak, 79, of Dickinson, will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Deacon Ron Keller celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Belfield.


Visitation for Paul will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.


Paul passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Dickinson.


Paul was born February 8, 1939 in Belfield, North Dakota to Paul Sivak and Polly Gawryluk Sivak. He spent his early years on the farm at Snow, North Dakota before later moving to Belfield. Paul attended grade school and high school in Belfield. He often talked fondly of getting to ride horseback on the farm with his cousins during school vacations.


Paul worked for various construction companies and oilfield contractors over the years. The task he was most fond of was assisting in building and repairing fences and the hand planting of many trees on the farm until foot problems forced him to spend less time on his feet.


Paul was a fan of small town rodeos, followed PRCA rodeos on the tv, and liked to talk a lot of rodeo in his conversations. He liked to watch the Green Bay Packers when it came to football, his favorite being the old Vince Lombardi teams. Paul also enjoyed old movies and stories of the Old West on tv. In his later years, the Catholic Channel became his favorite viewing.


Paul is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Paul and Polly; sisters, Agnes Papka, Marilyn Reisenaur, and Jan Kadrmas; brother, Steve; and nephew, Craig Kadrmas.


Paul is survived by his brothers, Charles and Emil; sister, Virginia (Bob) Holland; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
