Paul passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 at St. Luke?s Home, Dickinson, NDPaul was born November 1, 1922, the son of Sebastian and Celestine (Frank) Stoltz, 13 miles southeast of Dickinson, on the family homestead. He attended country school, which was located on the family?s farm. He began working on the Stoltz farm, where he has carried on the 3rd generation of farming and ranching. On October 29, 1947 he and Wiletta Urbanec were united in marriage at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. Together, they continued to farm and ranch and raise their family of nine children. Paul felt he won the battle of the ?Leafy Spurge? by involving his children and grandchildren in the sweeping of the ?spurge beetles?. He took great pride in the knowledge that they were able to get control of the spurge and not use chemicals any longer. He held a great stewardship for the land. He loved to follow his grandchildren and great grandchildren to any and all of their events. In 1988, they retired and moved into Dickinson, where they have made their home since. Upon retiring, Paul discovered he enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, he always loved playing cards and visiting with any and all. He never met a stranger. Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and 4th degree, German Hungarian Club, St. Anthony?s, St. Pius Verein, Eagles, Farmers Union, Catholic Workman?s, Elevator Board and a 4 H Leader.
